Austrian handbiker, Thomas Frühwirth, has secured a silver medal in the men's H5 individual time trial at the Tokyo Paralympics. The 32-year-old put on a strong performance, finishing just behind Japan's Keisuke Yamawaki, who took gold.
Frühwirth's silver medal is his second at the Tokyo Paralympics, having previously won bronze in the mixed team relay event. He has now won a total of six Paralympic medals, including two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
The individual time trial took place on a challenging course in Fuji International Speedway, with riders having to navigate a number of technical sections. Frühwirth was able to overcome these challenges and produce a strong time, finishing just 14 seconds behind Yamawaki.
