Arike Ogunbowale Signs Multi-Year Extension with Dallas Wings

3-Year, $725,952 Deal Makes Her One of WNBA's Top Earners

Loyd, Ogunbowale Set to be Highest-Paid Players in 2023

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Wings have signed star guard Arike Ogunbowale to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. The deal, which is reportedly worth $725,952 over 3 years, includes $725,952 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $241,984.

Ogunbowale, a two-time national champion at Notre Dame, has quickly become one of the most dominant players in the WNBA. The 25-year-old averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game last season while leading the Wings to their first playoff berth since 2018.

Her impressive play has made her one of the most marketable players in the league. According to Spotrac, Ogunbowale and Jewell Loyd of the Seattle Storm are currently set to be the highest-paid WNBA players in the 2023 season.

Ogunbowale's extension is a significant investment for the Wings, who are hoping to build on their recent success. The team has made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, and they believe Ogunbowale is the key to their continued growth.

"Arike is a special player and an integral part of our team," said Wings President and CEO Greg Bibb. "We are thrilled to have her in Dallas for the long term and we believe she will help us reach our goal of winning a championship."
